For those who don’t know…I’m the current host of the new official PAlib website at palib-dev.com. PAlib was almost lost when the original site was hacked, but fincs resurrected the work itself and I created a new website to host it. We’ve managed to keep it alive since then with a rather active new forum and a wiki that continues to expand. MLucanius created a new web template not long afterwards, which is the one we’re using right now.
A few days ago, the old official site gave us a redirect link. That leads me to believe that the original developer, Mollusk, has indeed walked away from PAlib. It was bound to happen eventually, as the old website was updated less and less; the forum went horribly out of date, the wiki wasn’t really touched in ages, and Mollusk rarely showed up on the forum. Therefore, our efforts to keep PAlib alive have succeeded, and palib-dev.com has now become the official new site of the library.
While I don’t agree with some of the philosophies of the original project (such as using .NET for some of the tools), I’ll continue to support both PAlib and NDS homebrew development. It’s just a shame that Nintendo doesn’t see the potential in non-commercial development as we do…
